Explore the design story of NuPhy Halo96.
A profile that stands out.
To shatter the stereotypes of what is possible with high profile keyboards, NuPhy has taken a radical approach to Halo96’s design language. A band of light, the ‘Halo’, forms the central piece that unites the solid unibody aluminum frame, first seen on a fully assembled keyboard, with the laser-polished ABS base. Enhancing both the grip and the sense of height, the base's wavy, Ionic column inspired side brings vibrancy to the minimalist, achromatic aluminum frame, available in wear-resistant anodized matte black and elctrophoresis-coated ionic white.
Play without the plug in.
At NuPhy we are always about minimizing delays. Be it pairing with a new set-up on the road, multitasking between up to 4 different Mac/Windows devices, or heavy-duty editing and gaming which push a connection’s responsiveness to the limit, with its seamless tri-mode connection integration, perfect dual-OS support and 4000mAh built-in battery that can sustain 205 hours(all lights off) of continuous use, Halo96 is always there when you need it, and gets out of the way the moment thoughts start to flow from your fingertips.
Mac and Windows.
Elevating the game of native dual-OS support, we have been updating and fine-tuning the multimedia keys layout and function for MacOS/Windows on our keyboards to reflect the newest developments from OS vendors, including the implementation of shortcuts for Apple's dedicated ’Spotlight’ and ‘Dictation’ keys in Halo96’s Mac mode. We will continue to find more ways, and shortcuts, to bring extra values to our users on the software side.
A delight to the eyes, a treat for the fingers.
Your key presses will register, and nothing else. Moulded with the double-shot PBT process, the all-new NuPhy KOP keycaps sport an ergonomic rounded-corner, flatter design, as well as grease and scratch resistant surfaces that retain their stunning look and feel even after extensive uses. Hmmm, maybe that’s something that does stick around after all, our bad.
With keycaps so brightly and vividly colored, it is hard to hold back the urge to indulge in some good’ol mix and matches, and you don’t have to, we have thrown in 18 extra keycaps to make the decision easier for you. Enjoy the extra bit of styling and personalization!
Introducing GhostBar, the world's first noise suppression space keycap, and the culmination of half a year of acoustic, material, structural engineering. Employing Silentcone, an innovative acoustic stealth system designed specifically for space bar acoustic shaping, GhostBar has made possible the complete elimination of hollow sound, perfect blend-in of the space bar sound with other keys, with no trade-off in weight and touch response.
for your buck.
We love listening to the users, and that is how the consonant, clear, mesmerizing typing sounds made from some of the community’s most creative acoustic improvisations have caught our attention. Combining a built-in Plate & PCB Silicone, Bottom Silicone and Spacebar Silicones, NuPhy offers a complete noise-reduction and stabilization solution for all Halo96 users.
Supervising every detail in not just design but manufacturing, Night Breeze(linear) and Rose Glacier(tactile) represent the results of our innovative process to create switches imbued with pleasant touch, sound, and NuPhy-ness. Both come with stems made from polyketone, a next generation high performance polymer with tremendously improved elastic limit, higher durability and oil resistance than commonly used POM material. Together with the extra-length stem design, the POK material is instrumental to enable a crisp and satisfying sound feedback for the new key switches. The 21mm spring plays as important a role in achieving the balance between good tactile feedback and comfort as the stem does for the sound feedback, while the pre-lubing process ensures the NuPhy experience is instantly available the moment you receive your switches.
Press and be impressed.
Baby Kangaroo switches, or BBK, is the fruit of thousands of experiments to create the optimal tactile and acoustic experience for all purpose normal profile keyboard users, and the partnership between NuPhy and Gateron. With BBK, you get immediate, strong tactile response for each press: the tactility reaches its peak at just 0.5mm of travel, laying a firm ground early on for a well stabilized downstroke, followed by an extra-length two-stage spring enabled swift bottom out and a snappy return during the upstroke. BBK's no-nonsense yet thorough approach translates to a typing experience that is robust, focused, and energetic, and a clean, crisp, lingering sound, thanks to its noise-reduction design and housing construction, as well as Gateron’s pre-lubing process and our built-in damper system.
Bold but relaxed.
The secret sauce that packs the punch for BBK is finally coming to linear switches. Enter Baby Raccoon, built with a extra-length single stage stem pole, and the same PA66 housings as BBK, Baby Raccoon complements the smooth, consistent feel of a linear switch with a snappy return. This combination makes BBR a perfect choice for those who want all around, balanced switches, but snappier, cleaner upstrokes, and better sound performance.
Switch. Swap. Swagger.
Not sharing our love for NuPhy switches or BBK/BBR? No problem. Halo96 comes with Gateron G Pro 2.0, our pre-lubed smooth typing champ on the menu, as well as full hot-swappability support. With the 7 bonus switches shipped with each package, a different typing experience is just two pulls and one push away. Now tailor the insides of your keys to your heart’s content!

The power glows.
With 2 rings of illumination, 17 different default light effects, 80 RGB LEDs, 16M RGB colors, and unlimited software customizability at your fingertips, the show never stops with Halolight. And it is not just for show: we have streamlined the Sidelight keyboard status monitor first demonstrated in the Air series, a single unified indicator LED now keeps you informed on connection modes/OS transitions, CapsLock and battery status. Now easily stay focused while being entertained.
There is the rest,
and then there is the rest.
We promised a light show that never stops, and it certainly wouldn’t be stopped by the keyboard’s edges! Built from a precision machined acrylic module and aluminum module coupled together, the Twotone wrist rest is as great a companion to Halolight as your wrists. The acrylic top diffuses the RGB lights emitted from the LED ring, completing the amazing Halo effect, while the sturdy Aluminum base provides support and enhances the structure.

Opinion on Keyboard Layout (NuPhy Halo96)
I am satisfied with your company's products, but I would like to share my opinion on a few inconveniences I discovered while using them. The keyboard you produced is excellent in terms of design, but there are some inconvenient aspects from the user's perspective. The discomfort I feel is related to the position of the arrow keys.
First, the arrow keys are attached to the number pad (especially 0), and it is very frequent that the cursor moves to a different position instead of entering 0 when typing numbers. Second, I understand that the right shift key is short, but the cursor often goes up, just like the previous issue.
My suggestion regarding this issue is to create a small gap between the left arrow key and the adjacent key (I don't know the name) similar to the gap in the layout of the letter and number pad (about half a keycap? I am not sure), and place the arrow keys in the middle of that gap (which would create a gap around all directions of the arrow keys). The reason for this is that when using the keyboard without looking at it, the sense of touch is an essential factor in identifying the location of the arrow keys, and I think the key to this is the spacing between the keys.
The current keyboard layout has the arrow keys attached to other keys, making them difficult to distinguish. For the arrow keys, it is common to find their position with the right hand moving, but if all the keys are attached, it is challenging to find them by touch alone, and eventually,…
Love this keyboard!
I was shopping for a full sized mechanical keyboard as I’ve grown accustomed to my Steel Series Apex Pro Full. I initially purchased one for my office but liked it so much I purchased one for my home studio.
I can’t speak much on the software as I know MacOS is currently not available(I knew this before purchasing this keyboard). I purchased one with the intent to use it out of the box. I’m not a big RGB lights guy so so the lights was an added bonus. I wanted a keyboard that works right out of the box and this keyboard definitely delivered the goods. I am happy with the quality. For the cost, I think this is one of the best bang for your buck keyboards out there. There is something satisfying about typing on this keyboard.
The numpad takes a little while to get use to but I was able to adjust to the “0” being smaller. One of the best things I purchased for my home and office.
I recommend purchasing the Nuphy Blue or Black space bar as I am not a big fan of the yellow space bar.
Please check out my pictures!
Is a majestic keyboard for sure!
Amazing to the touch, it is delicious to hear the sweet night breeze touch sound. And they view with the halo RGB lights with that beautiful black paint is just fabulous!
Keyboard of the Gods
I got a pair (one for work and one for home) after playing around with different retail and custom mechanical keyboards. Finally found what I was looking for. G Pro Reds were the right call for my office (noise levels and I like a lighter actuation).
Absolutely Fantastic Keyboard
Incredible build quality, built like a tank. Fantastic set of features; swappable switches, tons of halo and under-key lighting modes, lots of function key options, wireless or wired, very helpful instruction pamphlet, several color options provided for arrow, option, enter and escape keycaps. It even includes a sample set of switches to try out. It was all very nicely packaged. I am loving this keyboard, highly recommended.
I love it!
the feel the look the options even the minimal LED light
really a home run with this one. very satisfied with it, especially the space bar
would be great to get a diff set of switches with it but will just purchase another,
using the night breeze and its smooth with the right amount of feedback
Bought for work
Wanted a thocky sounding keyboard for work that also looked cool. This fit the bill. I chose the night breeze switches and I don't regret a thing. Coworkers are jealous. Motivates me to get work done because I love typing on it. Convinced my girlfriend to buy one as well. Will definitely use nuphy first for future keyboard purchases.
