NUPHY NIGHT BREEZE - TECH SPECS
After typing on Baby Kangaroo and Brown switches for a long time I was hesitant moving to a linear switch. I primarily use my keyboard for work and typing so I liked the tactile bump however I wanted something which sounded different, more 'thockier'. After plenty of research I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the NuPhy Night Breeze switches for my Halo65.
My initial impression was a pleasant surprise with how amazing these switches feel and sound! The actuation force is super light especially if you're coming from most tactile switches. The switches themselves look great in a tasteful frosted blue with excellent build quality. The long POK stem makes bottoming out so defined and crisp and greatly contributes to the feel and sound. At first it took me some time to get used to linear switches for typing, but after a few good typing sessions they've proven to be absolutely fine and are quieter than the Baby Kangaroo switches.
Overall the Night Breeze are a fantastic set of switches with light, smooth actuation and 'thocky' sound. After about a month of use they are still going great with no noticeable change. While linear switches are not for everyone used to tactile switches, I would say they are worth trying out at least once in your life. The typing experience is significantly different from a tactile switch and what better switch to try out than NuPhy Night Breeze.
I bought these and the Rose Glacier switches and both linear and tactile respectively are fantastic. The lube job is so nice (although I am a bit of a novice still), and I really really REALLY appreciate all the thought and care that goes into each order. This is the first company I’ve bought switches from that come with their own reusable case! Big huge respect for that and for high quality switches as well :) 100% recommend, will be buying from here again. (The Night Breeze switches are in this keeb!)
A switch with a wonderfully pleasant bottoming sound
Night Breeze Switches provide superb typing sound no matter which keyboard you install them on.
The bottom hitting sound is especially pleasing.
The short strokes and light feel of the linear switches also make them one of the most pleasant keyswitches for me.
Loose in the through-holes
Don't want to deduct a lot because it might be the PCB fabrication, but soldering these in straight was some work, as they had wiggle room in the through-holes. Otherwise, switch action itself is pretty nice and smooth.
Favorite switch I’ve ever used
I’ve tried Cherry Reds, browns, blues, clears, and nothing compares to this. Easily my favorite switch to type on for work and game on. Been using these for over 6 months now and they still feel amazing. They’re also very quiet with the ghostbar which is nice for being in the office or around others. I even bought a back up supply of these in case they ever discontinue them. 10/10 would recommend
