NUPHY ROSE GLACIER - TECH SPECS
- GGaryVerified BuyerRated 3 out of 5 stars3 months agoNewest batch is disappointing
I have the NuPhy Halo75 V1 fitted with Rose Glacier switches from last year. I love these switches and how heavy they are with a very strong tactile bump at the top. When the V2 was announced, I wanted to upgrade and go back to a more full sized keyboard as I use the numpad a lot and was missing it. However, it came with new lemon switches and on paper, they are much lighter, so I wanted to buy a set of Rose Glaciers to switch them to. I switched a few of them onto my new board and while they are slightly heavier than the lemons, they are nowhere near as heavy as the set I have on my Halo75 V1. A comparison shows that the internals are no longer using copper connectors and are using regular metal as well. The actuation force is very noticeable between the 2, with the originals being much heavier. This is very disappointing as I really loved the heavy tactile switch.
For the original switches I would give them a 5. For these, because they are inconsistent with the originals they get a 3/5.

While the new Rose Glacier switches may not perfectly match the heaviness you enjoyed with the originals, we hope you can still appreciate their tactile feedback. We will continue to refine our processes to minimize such variations in future batches.
Thank you for choosing NuPhy!

The switches feel and sound very nice. They're similar to the Akko White Wine switches, with a tactile bump right at the very top of the press, but they're a bit sturdier with less wobble and spring sounds. The bump is noticeably higher than a regular brown.
The colored housing affects the color of light from LEDs, and gives a noticeable pink tint to white light. I would prefer this with a clear housing, but it's not a dealbreaker.

I absolutely love these switches and am looking at swapping them out in another keyboard as well now! They feel great when typing and are very smooth. I also love the sound quality to them. Highly recommended!

Swapping form the Gateron browns to these has been a dream. the firmer tactility makes typing feel like a dream almost akin to the feeling of clicking a pen, even for gaming these switches are great the tactile feed back feels great and extremely responsive. If you're like me and routinely misclick keys the higher actuation force ensures that you click the correct keys which has lead to me being able to be more confident in my ability to type and game. So yes I would highly recommend these switches to anyone that's into tactile keys, for the price you can not go wrong. (for the people who do have a higher budget id recommend combining these with a good foam mod to give a slightly marbaly sound)
